I can't think of anything I would like to add, but I am more moved by the recent discovery of an amazing Bronze-age burial site during railroad construction last year in Germany, described here and here. The woman appears to have gently laid herself down to sleep on these stones, which I suppose were covered with sand, some 3000 years ago. I wonder how many people living in America today might possibly be descended from her.
