Dutch Republic paintings typically portray people wrapped in cocoons of black cloth and starched white collars, so it's nice to see a bunch of skinny-dipping kids defying convention and indulging in more timeless pursuits. That spaniel in the bow looks really apprehensive, probably because the boy standing is about to pee on him.
